Founding Engineer (Backend)

IT chaos is a systems problem. We're fixing it with AI. Tequipy builds an AI-first IT operations platform that manages the full lifecycle of company equipment and software — from onboarding to offboarding, from compliance to cost optimization — without spreadsheets, tickets, or manual babysitting.

We’re a small, agile and quite senior team with experience at Revolut and other leading tech companies. This isn’t a “pick up Jira tickets” kind of role, you’ll work like a Silicon Valley product engineer, taking end-to-end ownership of the product and the problems you solve. We also use Claude Code and other AI tools extensively, going far beyond autocomplete.

We're looking for an experienced back-end engineer to own the web application layer at Tequipy. This is a high-impact role with real ownership: you'll shape how our product is built, how it performs, and how it evolves as we scale. You'll work directly with other teams to ship a product that handles real enterprise complexity — with the speed and clarity that only a small, senior team can maintain.

AI tooling is a core part of how we work. We expect you to have it embedded in your workflow — not as a curiosity, but as a force multiplier.

Backend platform engineering

• Design and implement responsive, user-friendly interfaces and scalable backend services.
• Deliver full-stack features end-to-end, from technical design and implementation to production rollout.
• Build and evolve systems for global asset management, device delivery, HRIS integrations, and autonomous IT administration.
• Own architectural and technical improvements across the platform, focusing on reliability, extensibility, and long-term scalability.
• Collaborate with product designers and engineers to translate real-world IT workflows into well-designed product experiences.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
• Use AI tools to accelerate development, improve code quality, and optimize engineering workflows.

AI-assisted development

• Leverage AI coding tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or equivalent) as a core part of your engineering workflow
• Evaluate and introduce new AI tooling that speeds up delivery without sacrificing quality
• Help establish team norms around AI-assisted development — what to automate, what to review, what to own

• ‍3+ years experience on a similar position
• Preferably experience in small companies
• Extensive experience with one of languages - Typescript, Java or Kotlin
• Strong practical experience with Claude Code or any alternative—we generate a lot of code!
• Strong testing culture — engineers are responsible for testing the code they write

• Compensation: up to 35,000 PLN net + VAT per month on a B2B contract. We are hiring for multiple seniority levels.

2. Home Assignment: A practical task based on a real production problem to assess your problem-solving skills. The submission must be done in Kotlin/Java.

4. Technical Interview: A 1-hour session to discuss the home assignment and explore general technical topics.
